Fee Information

Fee InformationWhether it is fraud, evasion, or any other underpayment of tax for which a claim may be filed with the IRS under the Tax Whistleblower Reward Program, our law firm represents clients on a contingency fee basis.

This means that our fee is a percentage of the proceeds that are ultimately rewarded to you. Although the standard fee is one-third the reward, the fee that we charge depends upon the complexity of the case and the risks involved in successfully processing it.  We do not charge a fee for the initial consultation or for subsequent work unless and until you receive a reward from the IRS.  If we incur any costs in putting the case together, the costs are our investment in the Claim unless such action is prohibited by the rules of ethics of the state bar association.  If the IRS refuses the case or is unable to collect the tax (in which event there is no reward for your claim), there are no fees or costs to you.  The contingency fee is the purest form of incentive to the attorney.  It drives the attorney to fight for the largest reward because the attorney’s compensation is directly related to the size of the reward.  If the IRS accepts a referral under the Tax Whistleblower Reward Program (IRC § 7623(b)), the size of the reward will be between 15% and 30% of the tax, interest, and penalties ultimately collected based upon the information provided.  Our attorneys strive to maximize both the chance of your case being accepted and the size of the reward.

If you are dissatisfied with the amount of the reward as determined by the IRS, you have the right to sue the IRS in the U.S. Tax Court to challenge the sufficiency of the reward.  At your request, we will appeal the reward at no additional cost to you.

If you have "specific and credible" information regarding $2,000,000 of tax, penalty and interest involving tax fraud, or any underpayment of tax, by a taxpayer (an individual, business, estate, or trust) you may be rewarded up to 30% of the amount collected by the United States for providing such information.  Contact us to start the process of submitting your claim to the Tax Whistleblower Reward Program.  We are willing to guarantee your confidentiality!!
